PSN Security Lapse: Later Release of PS4

We all know that the next PlayStation of Sony i.e. the PS4 will be released around 2012 or 2013. But recently, there happened a huge leak of Sony’s credit card numbers on its PlayStation Network (PSN) and the number is more than ten million. This means that, may be Sony will push back the launching date of the new PS4 till 2014. Hackers got access to the ten million subscribers’ credit card numbers as well as their usernames, actual names, home addresses, email addresses and birthdates.

Sony is now trying to get back the subscribers’ reliance by offering a lot of free gifts including a thirty days full-free subscription to the PSN. But it is very much clear that Sony should work on the PSN before releasing new hardware i.e. PS4. It will be a very much self destructive decision if Sony introduces new consoles at this critical time and they will suffer huge financial setbacks.

May be Sony is in a pressure to release the PS4 earlier because if it did not do that then it will benefit Nintendo’s new gaming console. Therefore, still there exists the option of an earlier launch of PS4. No one knows what will happen.

Nevertheless, we can at least expect the promotion of present PlayStation system and also the development of PS3 features. Those buyers who still have trust on the company to buy a gaming console will be confused whether they buy the PS3 of will wait for PS4. It is not easy to say which option is wiser to take for a gamer. Decision making is completely depending on the gamer.
